Japanese black tea is known as wakoucha (和紅茶) and is made from unique tea cultivars that are often different in character than Chinese or Indian black teas, with a bright, delicate flavor and a hint of natural sweetness.
It is a rare tea to produce as Japan has a preference to Sencha historically but it has lately seen a revival with an emphasis on quality and characteristics of the land and japanese processing.
